[투자일기] PSTG (Pure Storage)매수: 매수 이유, Exit Strategy

 

이번주, Pure Storage라는 Storage as a Service 회사 주식을 주당 $41.2에 매수했다.

 

회사 소개

Pure Storage, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, provides data storage technologies, products, and services in the United States and internationally. The company’s Purity software is shared across its products and provides enterprise-class data services, such as data reduction, data protection, and encryption, as well as storage protocols, including block, file, and object. 

 

2009년에 회사가 세워지고 2015년에 IPO했다.

 

Reddit에서 사람들이 어떤 sentiment인지 보자 (2달전 글; 근데 purestorage Subreddit이니 좀 편향되어 있을수도...):

• I have experience with Netapp, Nimble (Pre HP) Pure and some off the wall stuff like ReadyNAS etc, and by far (and I mean far) Pure is hands down the best I have worked with for a litany of reasons:
• I've been in storage for nearly 20 years. I've used brands from Netapp, EMC and Dell (before and after the EMC acquisition), HP, Sun, StorageTek (dating myself here), and lots of IBM. Pure is by far the simplest, most reliable, most feature complete block storage I have ever used. 

다른 쓰레드 (1년전 글):

• can tell you when pure works, it works well. And it works well 99.999% of the time. I have have one issue in 7 years of working with Pure in my environment. 

아무튼 레딧글들을 구경하다 보니 찐 tech people이 애용하고 있는것 같다.

매수 이유

1) Chaikin Analytics의 무료 추천 AI 종목 중 하나였다. 

2) Employee수도 많고, career page보니 engineering talent구하는데 진심으로 보였다 (https://www.purestorage.com); reinvest returns to business 한다고 한다 (dividend 안줌)
3) Yahoo finance 말로는 intrinsic value 가 $56정도라 함 (future cash flow이용, 등등 어떤 방식이 정확히 쓰였는지는 잘 모르겠다)

 

지난 분기에 추천에 따라 샀을 때 처럼 막 확신이 들고 그런 것은 아니었지만, Charles Schwab에서 Financial Statement 추세가 나쁘지 않고, 매우 작은 숫자이지만 beat the earnings했다.

 

 

 

Exit Strategy

목표: Short Term계좌의 분기별 수익률 10%

 

행복회로: 올해 목표에 따라, +10%가 되면 ($46.5) 절반을 매도하고 Q1남은 기간동안 지켜보자. 

불행회로: -28%($30)되면 50~75%정도 매도하자 (남은 거는 롱 하자..). $30은 전량 매도했을때 최소한 이 종목에서 건지고 싶은 금액이다ㅜ

 

Charles Schwab에 $45이상, $35이하 Mobile Alert 해놓았다.

 

아무튼 4월이 되기 전에 처분하는 것을 목표로 한다!
